Steamed rice
with kale and peas
Full Steam Program
Ingredients
2 cups of rice
2 cups bullion (vegetable or chicken)
1 tbsp salt
1 tbsp red pepper powder
1/2 tbsp hot pepper powder
1 onion
200 g kale
1 ½ cups green peas
1 bunch fresh parsley
2 tbsp Olive oil
2 tbsp butter
Pickled cucumber
4 small snack cucumbers or 1 large
1 cup water
1/2 cup vinegar
1/4 cup sugar
1 pinch of Salt
4 eggs
Directions
Put the rice and bullion in a steam pan. Season with salt and pepper and stir. Place the pan in the middle of the preheated oven and steam for 20 mins.
Now start preparing the pickled cucumber. Put all the pickle ingredients into a bowl and whisk until the sugar is dissolved. Then thinly slice the cucumber and add to the pickle. Let the cucumber pickle until the rice is ready.
Rinse and chop the kale into thinner pieces. When the rice is ready, add in the kale and peas, then season with salt and pepper. Steam for a further 5 mins.
Take out the rice and mix in butter, parsley and olive oil. Serve with egg and the pickled cucumber.
